A Take on the Classic
There is nothing as simple nor effective as an ice-cold beverage on a Summer’s day and no cookout is complete without one. Yes, a frosty cold beer is always a crowd pleaser, but if you’re trying to impress your guests you may want to try your hand at some cocktails.
Perfect for any occasion cocktails are fruity, delicious and you basically feel like you are drinking lemonade- until you try to get up and can’t stand. What about a CBD cocktail? Studies have shown that the natural supplement can have a long list of benefits from helping you sleep to boosting your mood.
Don’t be expecting to get stoned as the hemp derived CBD confers a “body high” rather than the intoxicating THC version. CBD can be mixed into everything from virgin to alcoholic drinks and it won’t alter the taste – so you can even try a CBD infused version of your favourite classic.
Whether you want to make you own or sit back, relax and have someone bring you one by the bar, you should definitely try a CBD cocktail.
Following a night of drinking, we usually don’t wake up feeling too fresh, but what happens when trying a CBD cocktail, promised to produce a myriad of health benefits. Below are just a few…
One of the most celebrated and well known uses of CBD is for pain relief and it is thought that CBD can be used to combat anything from minor injuries to chronic suffering. The cannabinoid does this by interacting with receptors in the brain and immune system to reduce inflammation and provide a release from pain. A 2008 study reported that “CBD offered effective pain relief without inducing adverse side effects in patients”.
The majority of us go for a drink in order to help us relax, mix with friends and generally unwind from everyday stresses. But if you find yourself struggling to switch off from work then a CBD cocktail may be just what you need. A growing body of research is suggesting that CBD should be used as a method of therapy for a range of medical conditions, including anxiety. The natural drug has the ability to stimulate the production of hormones aiding in mood regulation and instigating calmness throughout the body.
CBD could be valuable for the treatment of cancer in a multitude of ways. It has been said to reduce our risk and even actively amplify the death of tumour cells. Various reports have also cited CBD as effective treatment in reducing negative symptoms associated with cancer and standardised treatment like chemotherapy. CBD could increase appetite, reduce nausea, and (as mentioned above) relieve pain.
Reduced Risk of Diabetes
A rarely discussed and sometimes unknown benefit of CBD is that it can in fact reduce the risk of diabetes in its users. It has been suggested that CBD can do so by lowering insulin fasting levels and reducing the risk of insulin resistance.
In a study published by the Neuropharmacology, researchers studied the effects CBD had on non-obese diabetes prone female mice. They found that only 32 percent of the mice that received CBD were diagnosed with diabetes compared to 100 percent of the untreated group.
